ISCC Global Sustainability Conference: Sustainability certification is developing rapidly!
Our colleagues Clara Terbeck and Simon Pflips spent two intensive and inspiring days in Brussels at the ISCC General Assembly and the ISCC Global Sustainability Conference. They brought back a clear message for us: sustainability certification is developing rapidly.
📍 Tuesday: ISCC General Assembly
ISCC's global certification schemes provide companies with important guidance for sustainable action, with a clear focus on doing rather than just talking. This impressive development is reflected in the large number of new association members and, not least, in the increasing number of new certifications, especially in the voluntary sector.
Clara and Simon were particularly pleased that mutual exchange within the ISCC community has continued to grow since last year and is set to be expanded further in the future through additional working groups and stakeholder meetings.
A big thank you to ISCC for the opportunity to actively participate, and to the newly elected board members Dr. Steffen Mueller and Stefan Majer for taking on this important responsibility.
👉 One topic that is particularly important to us is the digital support of mass balancing within these certification schemes: an area in which we actively provide solutions.
📍 Wednesday: ISCC Global Sustainability Conference
Many exciting presentations provided impressive insights into current developments. The growing range of topics, from the ISCC-EU and PLUS to SAF and AMF, as well as the increasing number of participants, clearly demonstrate the growing relevance of sustainability certification systems.
A recurring core topic was the importance of reliable sustainability data and the ongoing digitalization of sustainability. The UDB was also discussed intensively: although there is still no official timeline for its mandatory use yet, a new UDB development roadmap is expected shortly. Meanwhile our very own integration of the UDB into our solutions progresses further and will simplify reporting obligation conformity for our customers.
We would like to praise the excellent moderation by Sonja van Renssen, Erika Sánchez Garrido, Jesus Lopez Lopez, Peter Schild as well as their concluding summary of the event.
🙏 Our thanks go to Dr. Norbert Schmitz, Andreas Feige, the ISCC Association Board, and the entire ISCC team for organizing this successful event and for the open, constructive exchange.
