6th Biofuels Forum: From Dialogue To Solutions!

What do RED IV, UDB, ReFuelEU, FuelEU Maritime and new feedstocks have in common? They make one thing clear: the world of sustainable fuels is not getting any simpler. Quite the opposite.

Our CTO and Head of Decarbonisation, Daniel Koslowski, attended the 6th Biofuels Forum in Brussels. For him, it was two days of fascinating presentations, in-depth panel discussions and numerous conversations with industry representatives.

His key takeaway: much remains to be resolved.

New regulatory requirements clash with the differing interests and perspectives of individual sectors. Things do not always move in the same direction. And many issues still require clarification.

What is becoming increasingly clear, however, is that:

• Requirements are becoming more complex.
• Data and evidence are becoming more important.
• Processes must be traceable and transparent.
• Digitalisation is therefore becoming a prerequisite – not an optional extra.

That is precisely why we are in Brussels: to listen, to understand, to identify developments at an early stage and to develop solutions together with our partners.

Because if one thing has become clear after these two days, it is perhaps this:

Sustainability cannot be achieved through regulation alone. It must also become measurable, traceable and digitally representable. This has been our mission for years with our solutions CEEMAS and CEETRAC.
